Rustrel is a very tiny village and people mainly go there to walk in the Colorado region where all those Ochre plains contrast with an almost white desert clay. All of it in contrast to the green fir trees. There's 3 lengths of walks laid out but in the heat I only walked five kms and actually got a bit lost (signs arn't great) and think I wandered another few kms. There were very few people about - a good reason to wander before high season.
